What is a wireless occupancy sensor?

A wireless occupancy sensor is a battery-powered or line-powered device that senses presence and sends occupancy data over a wireless network. Common sensor types include passive infrared (PIR), ultrasonic, camera-based, and thermal (heat-based). Wireless deployment removes cabling constraints and enables rapid installation and flexible reconfiguration.
