Butlr is proud to announce that we are one of the pioneering companies combining AI and heat-tracking sensors to track occupancy within commercial spaces. We are known for delivering effective tracking solutions that don’t invade people’s privacy and security.

Our occupancy sensors allow organizations to track occupancy metrics in their spaces and use real-time data feeds to make adjustments, change layouts, improve logistics, and make timely decisions that affect the whole business. One type of sensor we offer is a chair occupancy sensor.

They can be used to see whether a chair is being used and detect movement across the office, allowing organizations to use their space efficiently and configure layouts. Our sensors and occupancy data also help companies understand the flow of the office and how it’s used, allowing them to improve environments for better comfort.

One of the main reasons our sensors give such precision, quality, and consistency is the technology we’ve built into them. Here are some of the key tech solutions we use.

PIR Technology & Thermopile-Based Recognition

Butlr’s sensors use a combination of passive infrared technology and thermopile-based recognition. This dual technology guarantees flawless and consistent detection. PIR detects motion by recognizing infrared radiation level changes within the sensor’s view.

It’s the first layer of sensing and identifying individuals or objects. Thermopile-based recognition technology measures temperature differences at multiple points and creates a thermal map of the office environment. They can detect even the slightest heat differences, allowing great accuracy during occupancy detection.

Near Field Communication and Card Emulation Mode

Near-field communication technology allows wireless, short-range communication between sensors and nearby devices. It uses the 13.56 MHz frequency for secure and fast data transfer, making Butlr’s sensors ideal for connections with IoT and other smart devices.

Our sensors also have a card emulation, mimicking RFID cards’ functions. This ensures backward compatibility with NFC/RFID systems, removing the need for infrastructure upgrades. At the same time, it eliminates the need for physical cards, allowing better control and easier user access.
